(8) "No regret" approaches are those that offer benefits whether the expected problems occur or not. For example, when a town council tries to address long-term problems of water supply during the summer by implementing a watersaving program, financial savings occur immediately in terms of water treatment, in addition to managing resources in case of shortages caused by temperature increases and long periods without rain.
