Le GIS Climat-Environnement-Société et le Laboratoire Paragraphe, Université Paris 8, vous invitent à participer à l'atelier « Knowledge, beliefs, representations in understanding climate issues», qui se tiendra le 29 Novembre 2013 à Meudon.

Présentation
L'objectif de cette journée est d'étudier, dans une perspective interdisciplinaire, le rôle des connaissances, croyances et  représentations complexes des phénomènes climatiques dans les capacités d'adaptation à ses changements. Ce sujet  n'a été jusque là abordé que de manière fragmentaire dans les recherches. Or la conceptualisation de ces phénomènes est au cœur des stratégies de résilience et d'adaptation qui sont à construire collectivement et individuellement. L'ambition de cet atelier est de poursuivre le travail d'élaboration des bases d'un programme de recherche qui a débuté lors du séminaire du 8 mars 2013 : Individual and collective representations of climate change: interdisciplinary perspectives. Il s'appuiera sur le projet norvégien : Linguistic representations of climate change discourse and their individual and collective interpretations (LINGCLIM) auquel participe le GIS, et sur le projet PARI : Etude d'adaptation cognitive au changement climatique du Laboratoire Paragraphe (Université Paris 8).

La matinée sera consacrée aux interventions des experts et l'après midi aux discussions visant à lancer une dynamique de réflexion coordonnée au niveau européen.

The GIS Climate-Environment-Society and the Laboratory Paragraphe, University Paris 8 invite you to participate in the workshop "Knowledge, Beliefs, Representations in understanding climate issues" that will be held on November 29^th 2013 in Meudon.

Presentation
The objective of the workshop is to study, from an interdisciplinary perspective, the role of knowledge, beliefs and representations of complex climatic phenomena in the adaptive capacity to its rapid changes. This topic is studied in a fragmentary way in isolated researches. However, the conceptualization of these phenomena is at the heart of resilience and adaptation strategies to build collectively and individually. The aim of this workshop is to continue to develop a research program, which began with the colloquium Individual and collective representations of climate change: interdisciplinary perspectives on 8 March 2013. The workshop is built on the Norwegian project Linguistic representations of climate change discourse and their individual and collective interpretations (LINGCLIM) which involved the GIS and the PARI project Study of cognitive adaptation to climate change of the Paragraph Laboratory (University Paris 8).

Contributions of experts will be given in the morning and the afternoon will be devoted to discussions with the idea of launching a European coordinated reflexion process.
